How we delivered a completely new SAP landscape in just 9 months

Why a new SAP landscape?

The existing ERP system no longer met the current or future business needs of Aramco Europe. Essential functionalities were missing, and the system lacked the flexibility to support future growth.

To create a scalable and future-proof solution, Aramco Europe transitioned to S/4HANA Private Cloud — establishing a solid foundation that supports current operations while enabling future ambitions.

The biggest challenges

The project came with an ambitious deadline, which was quite a challenge given the scope. On top of that, the migration from SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud to Private Cloud was virtually unprecedented globally. There were no standard tools, predefined processes, or procedures in place for this type of transformation — making it a pioneering project for everyone involved.

Additionally, Aramco Europe had limited internal capacity to support the project due to other priorities. This made close collaboration and rapid decision-making even more crucial.

What made this project a success?

The result for Aramco Europe

Together with Aramco, McCoy delivered a completely new SAP landscape — including a brand-new SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud, a renewed Ariba platform, Vendor Information Management (VIM), and seamless integration into Aramco’s existing IT landscape.
McCoy was responsible for the system configuration, data migration, and ensured a smooth go-live. This was achieved through intensive training, thorough testing, and close collaboration with the business. The project was delivered on time, within budget, and fully within scope.
