Royal Swinkels Family Brewers - SAP Ariba

Not a customer-supplier relationship but moving together in a long journey.

Royal Swinkels is a family business from North Brabant that has existed for over 300 years. The company is known for its beer brands, including Bavaria and Swinckels'. Over the years, Royal Swinkels has developed into an international brewery with a broad portfolio of brands.

Why Swinkels chose McCoy

Strategic objectives

  • Solid growth ambitions in turnover

  • Distinctiveness based on IT solutions

  • Good supplier relations

McCoy as a partner

Swinkels chose us on the basis of cultural (and regional) click. We find each other in our desire for simplicity and no-nonsense approach. Neither of us has a 'tight suit culture'. Of course, this is complementary to the content of our approach. We got this assignment partly because of our 'More Than IT' vision in which we also address the processes and organization around it.

What they got out of it

We successfully implemented SAP Ariba. We are particularly proud of the positive impact this had on the entire business:

  • We transformed the entire Procurement. There is a roadmap for Procurement 2025 with a clear mission and vision for the design of processes, systems and organization.

  • Our project at Procurement built bridges between departments so that they now work together on improvements.

  • We laid the foundation for the 'intelligent brewery' program.

  • This will enable the entire organization to work with data and systems in the smartest possible way.

How we achieved this together

Having our feet in the sand, or in this case the brewery, was an important success factor. We understood what procurement was struggling with and saw for ourselves what the impact would be if invoice processing did not run smoothly. By experiencing the problems together, we reached an even better solution.

In addition, our personal relationship with the Swinkels employees was a success factor. Not a customer-supplier relationship but working together on a long journey. This made us all feel owned and responsible for challenges and solutions.
