The latest release of SAP IBP brings increased functionality and quality-of-life improvements to SAP Integrated business planning. This blog post provides a brief overview of the highlights from the 2511 release, which is now available in non-productive systems.
SAP IBP 2511 adds native integration between S&OP process management and Microsoft Teams. Process owners can set template-level notifications that post step updates to selected Teams channels. Once enabled, messages for step starts, task creation and job scheduling can be automated. With this new functionality stakeholders are can be informed quickly, even when they are not logged in to SAP IBP.
Release 2511 introduces a new Manage Master Data web app. The interface adds built-in bulk editing, a reorganized list view, and a streamlined toolbar to speed up updates. You can create and share custom views with configurable filters, columns and sort order. It also includes native data-quality controls, including Master Data Health Check integration and configurable rules that block invalid saves. The legacy app is still available for now, but it will be retired in the future.
Starting with 2511, the Excel add-in and the Planning Filters app support new operators: starts with, ends with, contains, greater than and less than. These allow for more flexible criteria and easier refinement of large datasets. McCoy tip: Use these filters in the Excel add-in only after all users are on 2511 to avoid errors and missing results.
The SAP IBP Excel add-in (2511) no longer requires ActiveX. This small but important update reduces policy conflicts on managed devices because Microsoft 365 and Office 2024 disable ActiveX by default. Previously ActiveX had to be manually re-enabled to the add-in to work correctly.
Last quarter, SAP IBP launched the Harmonized Planning Area. This quarter, SAP released updates to refine the sample Planning Area, align it with best practices, and improve usability and performance. Key enhancements this quarter include:
· Production Planning based on orders is now available, allowing incorporation of you detailed production scheduling in S/4HANA (PP/DS). Short term changes done in S/4 are now reflected in IBP applications like Projected Stock, Analyze Supply Usage, or View Gating Factors.
· Best practices are now available within the Process Navigator for the SAPIBP2 (Harmonized) sample planning area, including Planner Workspaces and Analytic Stories.
