Sustainability at McCoy

Focusing on sustainability in your business? This is not just a strategic move or a legal obligation anymore. In fact it has been a necessity, for some time now . The world is in transition, and we all bear responsibility. That's why we focus on people, planet and process, in everything we do at McCoy. It’s because we believe that sustainable business is not just about going "green" but about sustainable choices in the broadest sense of the word. Less inequality, less emissions, less waste etc. And that begins with having more insight.

Sustainability and digitalization

In this whitepaper, you can read more about our view on the future and its impact on your SAP landscape.

Our approach to ISO 14001

At McCoy, we don’t just bring the "soft" back into software – we are also actively committed to a more sustainable future for people, society, and the environment. On this page, you can read more about our environmental initiatives.

In 2024, we took concrete steps to reduce our ecological footprint. We updated our mobility policy to make public transportation more accessible, encouraged the use of electric vehicles, and introduced a bike leasing program. We moved from an office with energy label F to one with an A+ rating, and we implemented official CO₂ monitoring using the Environmental Barometer. This took place not only in the Netherlands but also in our Manila office. These efforts have already led to EcoVadis certification.

But our ambitions go further: we aim to continue reducing our CO₂ footprint, enhance the sustainability of our procurement practices, and ensure the reuse of discarded materials.

All of this contributes to becoming a more sustainable company—one that supports a better environment and aligns with the ambitions of our clients. ASML, for example, aims for net-zero emissions by 2030. Additionally, governments increasingly require formal environmental management certifications.

How will we achieve this?

CO₂ reduction – Business travel

Various measures were implemented in 2024 with the launch of our new mobility policy. We’re seeing positive results and will continue to encourage the following:

We are also exploring whether we can ensure that electric cars use Dutch green energy. We may already be doing this, but we want full insight. We are also looking into how we can further promote sustainable travel within our mobility policy.

CO₂ reduction – Offices

Together with the property managers of our Eindhoven and Utrecht offices, we are identifying opportunities for further sustainability improvements. The Eindhoven office already has an A+ energy label but could still benefit from upgrades such as replacing an HR boiler, installing solar panels, switching to green energy, and using smart meters to measure McCoy’s own consumption. At our Utrecht location, a sustainability assessment is currently underway. We are encouraging the landlord to plan and implement these activities. We expect to receive proposals by the end of Q2.
