Setting up a smart logistics process once is just the beginning. Organizations are using big data to continually improve their warehouse optimization. The many movements of goods in a warehouse carry an enormous amount of data. Data that is a wealth of information for further optimization of your warehouse. But how do you get the most out of this data, both real-time and retrospective?

The solution for analyzing warehouse data

Smart tools are the solution when you want to make warehouse data work for you. With our customers, we use them for both real-time analysis and in-depth process analysis afterwards.

Tool 1 (real-time): warehouse insights

With SAP EWM, you capture advanced business processes in a system-driven way. However, peaks in the number of orders may require intervention in the distribution of work on the floor. SAP Warehouse Insights helps with this. The solution consists of three components.

  • Optimize: Warehouse Insights supports real-time and continuous optimization of orders to be handled in the warehouse. To do this, the tool leans on advanced algorithms, cloud computing and machine learning.

  • Analyze: The tool analyzes historical data and translates it into reports for various KPIs. These are presented visually in an out of the box dashboard. With these analyses you can make timely adjustments where necessary.

  • Visualize: Many organizations need a graphical representation of activities in the warehouse. Warehouse Insights graphically displays the warehouse, including ideal walkways. The network is adjustable in real time and makes process optimization easier.

Tool 2 (real-time): Intelligent Logistics performance dashboard

The McCoy EWM performance dashboard is an integral part of Intelligent Logistics. We developed it specifically to provide insight into the performance of your warehouse from day one. We have already provided insight into the most common warehouse KPIs. This allows you to both manage the daily operation and improve the KPIs. This includes optimization of warehouse processes, clean desk operations and reduction of lead times.

Tool 3 (afterwards): Celonis for process mining

Do you want to efficiently analyze all kinds of WMS data? If so, you are ready for process mining. Celonis is a very useful tool for this, which we combine with our in-depth SAP EWM knowledge. This allows you to work on continuous optimization of the warehouse in a three-phase cycle:

  • Data gathering:
Organizations that have implemented EWM know that they are capturing a rapidly growing amount of data. This makes it increasingly difficult to analyze the data thoroughly. Therefore, we have developed a simple model for data exchange between SAP EWM and Celonis.

  • Analyzing data : Process mining tools make connections without predetermined logic. We therefore developed a model with only a start and end point of the warehouse process, such as creation customer delivery and goods issue. Then Celonis analyzes all the data allowing you to shift the focus to process optimizations.

  • Process optimization:
After data analysis, Celonis identifies optimization opportunities for the warehouse process. For optimal results, make this an iterative process (plan-do-check-act) and deploy Celonis weekly or even daily. Of course, we are happy to advise you on this.
